WWS Humla in partnership with Samjhauta Nepal has been implementing the project “Empowering Vulnerable Women from Humla and Mugu of Midwestern Nepal” in two districts namely Humla and Mugu with technical assistance from Mission East and financial support from Lakarmissionen. The project aims to empower the most vulnerable women of seven and three VDCs of Humla and Mugu districts respectively with especial focus on single women, Dalit women and women with disability through literacy classes including various activities such as awareness raising and educating target beneficiaries via literacy programme, their capacity building by providing vocational trainings, forming and strengthening women groups / networks and various advocacy initiatives.

Project’s Objectives

  • Single and most vulnerable women of Humla and Mugu are empowered to combat social, economic and cultural discriminatory behaviors
  • Access women with economic facilities and resources via vocational trainings
  • Promote full participation of women in local decision making process
